This week I finished Lionel Shriver’s We Need to Talk About Kevin. Oh, sweet lord. You need to read that book, if you haven’t already. There is an essay to be written on this blog someday about how I probably didn’t hate the mother in that story enough, and that while I understand you are meant to feel torn re: nature and nurture, I mostly just felt, like, “Told you so!” about kids/motherhood.
